To make an impact
HOME OF GOOD HOPE ORPHANAGE
Home of Good Hope is an orphanage and school located in Mugiti, Uganda. Spearheaded and ran by local director Dan the modest school is community based and accepts students, even if their families are unable to pay school fees.
The school currently teaches 300 students, and hosts 50 orphaned youths, in kindergarten up to 5th The school is situated on a large plot of land, and has two classroom blocks, a 6-stanza latrine, and teacher and student accommodations. HOGH, although small, is growing and making an impact on the students who attend.
Completed Projects
Latrine Construction
We embarked on a vital initiative to bolster hygiene standards at the Home of Good Hope Orphanage School by constructing a new 6-stanza latrine facility. This endeavor was aimed at not only enhancing the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the school but also at providing a safer and more hygienic environment for the students and staff. Through this project, we sought to contribute to the well-being and health of the school community while promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
Water tank construction
We undertook the construction of a 10,000-liter upcycled water tank crafted from recycled plastic bottles, a sustainable solution to address water storage challenges. This innovative initiative significantly enhanced water storage capacity and accessibility, ensuring a more reliable water supply for the Home of Good Hope Orphanage School. Through this project, we aimed to alleviate water scarcity concerns and promote sustainable practices within the school community.
New Classroom Construction Initiative
In an effort to enhance educational facilities and promote learning opportunities, a new classroom has been constructed. This project underscores our dedication to fostering sustainable development and supporting the educational needs of the community.
